Le Pissenlit

La dent de lion or Le Pissenlit we know as the Dandelion the french love the leaves of this little yellow beauty and you will often see a Pissenlit salad on restaurant menus. We do not really appreciate its subtle flavours and class it as a weed although I know some people in the UK use it but I do not see it on the supermarket shelves any time soon.

This close up shows you how beautiful the petals are and how many stamens there are on one flower.

Better known as the Clock this is the seed-head and appears quickly but disappears even more quickly in a good wind. You can see that each seed has its own parachute to give it a good chance at traveling as far as possible.

It is always good to look closely at the flower heads as you never know what you may find, a beetle, a bee or a Baby Grasshopper.

Today I am finishing with a Green Finch, I will try and include a different bird each day until I run out, or am unable to find the time to get the shots or if they are just not around
