Orange Tip Butterflies

Today was the first day I managed to get images of our Orange Tip Butterflies. They are with us this year in large numbers because of Spring's early arrival and there is an abundance of their favourite plants.

This is the male showing his Orange wingtips and camouflaged underside

This is the female showing her black wing tips

You can easily see through the wings

The wonderfully patterned underside

The bird of the day is the Wood-pigeon; we have at least three pairs around the garden. We hear them all the time clapping their wings whilst flying around.
