A collection of the things happening in the garden - including to start with the B52 of wasp type hornet things, she is massive and appeared next to me when I was knocking out the hole for the window I was fitting. She is making a nest inside one of the cracks in the stone of the house. She is a Queen European Hornet.

The bird of the day is our little miss pretty, she is one of our ducks who has a nest very close to the house, she has just started to sit on the eggs, staying all night and the morning until the temperature gets high enough for her to leave them, until returning around tea time. If you did not know she was there you would walk straight by.
