Today I thought, let's take a little closer look at the small insects we often overlook, usually because they are so tiny we just don't notice them.
This Wasp is diving head-first into this blossom as opposed to the Bee in the next shot who just gathers pollen on the surface very gently.
This is an apple blossom about twenty five millimetres across so you can see how small the ant and his friend are.
This little spider is spinning his web on the head of this teasel. Over 37,000 species of spiders have been identified but, because of their great ability for hiding, it is believed there are nearer 200,000 species. Almost all species are venomous, but only 30 species are known to be deadly dangerous.
This is a baby grasshopper on another dandelion showing this is a popular venue for our little green springy legged creatures, this one is over two acres away from the last one I found the other day and is slightly larger.
This Wasp is diving head-first into this blossom as opposed to the Bee in the next shot who just gathers pollen on the surface very gently.
The Moon looked so clear tonight so here it is for you to see................
Finally the bird of the day is a Collared Dove - here our boy is just taking off from one of the towers.
